The score report is a map, not a verdict
PSI prints the ACS codes you missed (for example UA.II.A.K1 for airspace). Each code is one knowledge element. Study those first; the areas you passed are not the problem.
After a failed Part 107
You can retest after 14 days with no instructor endorsement required, but PSI charges the $175 fee again. Use the wait to fix the ACS codes on your report, not to re-read everything.
Who this is for
Drone pilots who just failed the FAA UAG knowledge test and want to pass the retake.
14 days
minimum wait before a retake (14 CFR 107.71)
$175
PSI fee, paid again on every attempt
82.96%
2025 UAG pass rate, FAA CY2025 report
Anyone holding a PSI score report with a score under 70%: first-time test takers, recreational flyers going commercial, and people who studied from old question banks.
In 2025, 17% of 73,914 Part 107 attempts failed (FAA CY2025 volume report). Every retake costs the $175 PSI fee again, so the second attempt has to be the last one.
Part 107 Pass - $69.00
PSI prints the ACS codes you missed (for example UA.II.A.K1 for airspace). Each code is one knowledge element. Study those first; the areas you passed are not the problem.
Since October 26, 2026 the FAA serves chart and figure questions with new images instead of the old testing supplement figures. If you failed on airspace or charts, you need the reading method, not the old answers.
The PSI UAG bulletin weights Regulations at 48% and Operations at 25%. Most failing reports we see are heavy in those two areas, where memory gaps on waivers, Remote ID, night rules and accident reporting add up.
A short plan you can follow from today to test day.
Write down every ACS code on the PSI report and look each one up in FAA-S-ACS-10B. That list is your syllabus. Then take one full timed practice test to confirm the weak areas.
Work focused sets on the missed areas with explanations, and read the lesson behind each miss. Do not re-watch a whole course; the retake is on the same 5 areas with the same weights.
Take 60-question timed mocks until you clear 85% twice in a row. Book the retake at PSI only when that happens; the fee is $175 every time.
Read Class D ceilings in hundreds of feet MSL, Class E floors, the magenta vignette and tower heights on current charts, not memorized supplement figures.
Who files the accident report and when, what a Part 107 waiver covers, when Remote ID is required, and what changes at night.
METAR and TAF lines, density altitude and what a temperature-dew point spread means for a morning launch.
14 calendar days from the failed attempt, per 14 CFR 107.71. Unlike the private pilot written, you do not need an instructor endorsement to retest. Checked on eCFR, October 2026.
Yes. PSI charges the knowledge test fee, about $175, for every attempt (FAA FAQ and PSI FAA testing programs page, October 2026). Rotate Pilot does not collect or refund that fee.
Same format: 60 scored questions, 120 minutes, 70% to pass, same five ACS areas and weights from the PSI UAG bulletin. The specific questions and figures change.
In calendar year 2025, 82.96% of 73,914 UAG attempts passed, so about 17% failed; the average score was 79.31% (FAA CY2025 Airman Knowledge Test Volume Report).

Not sure where you stand?
Sit a full 60-question timed practice exam, see your weak ACS areas, and drill only those before you pay the $175 PSI fee again.
The free 20-question diagnostic checks every test area and shows which topics to repair first.
Take the free diagnostic ->02Inside the course, every question you miss is saved and comes back as a short repair drill, so you retest only what you got wrong.
See the Part 107 bundle ->03Airspace, weather, regulations, operations, and performance each get larger drills so readiness is based on evidence.
Start the full system ->04After the written, the product shifts into LAANC, Remote ID, client checklists, first-job assets, and current-practice habits.
See operator path ->Where this goes next
Every question you miss is saved and comes back as a short repair drill. You retest only what you got wrong, prove the topic on a full-length exam, and keep the airspace and LAANC practice current after you pass.
Day 0
A member sees the repair bank, weakest topic, and next exact drill instead of wandering through a generic course.
Week 1
Missed-only mini-exams come before random volume, so progress becomes visible quickly.
Week 2
Readiness is tied to coverage, repair debt, and proof scores before paying PSI.
After pass
Lifetime access keeps it useful after the test: LAANC, first-client assets and field workflows.
